·        Date & Time: Wednesday, November 12, 6–8 pm

·        Where: The Strand. 5129 Nannie Helen Burroughs Ave NE, Washington, DC 20019

DC Safe Streets Coalition has some concerns:

·        Removing traffic lanes is dangerous, causing congestion and blocking first responders.

·        Protected bike lanes are dangerous at alleys, driveways and intersections.

·        DDOT’s bike plans do not accommodate deliveries and parking, especially on commercial stretches.

·        Biking is the only mode of transit that is unregulated. We propose an e-bike bill requiring registration, tags and speed controls.

·        DDOT’s stated purpose is to cause congestion, pushing drivers to public transit, but DC public transit is inadequate.

·        DDOT’s failure to engage the community is a constant complaint. This Town Hall is an excellent example. How did you learn of this event?
