Congressional Whistleblower Summit, Tuesday, July 28

This week a nine-year-old was killed and a five-year-old was seriously injured riding electric-assist scooters. Hospital Emergency Rooms report a sharp increase in e-bike injuries. Yet, DC encourages children to ride in the streets. It promotes and subsidizes E-bikes with bike lanes, rebates and pilot projects that are radically transforming street traffic without warnings, without precautions, and without safeguards. In the name of safety, DC is making our streets dangerous.

How do five-year-olds get E-scooters?

Of the 700,000 residents in DC, few want to bike – very few. In making the streets safer for biking, DC is creating fear and confusion for a vast constituency of pedestrians, drivers, seniors and the disabled – people who vote.

DC Safe Streets Coalition will participate Tuesday, July 28, at the 14th Annual Congressional Whistleblower Summit with other grassroots organizers to draw attention to their vital role in societal reforms. Moderated by Dr. Rhonda Hamilton, the panel includes esteemed community organizers Rev. Anthony Motley, Freedom Fighters Coalition; Dajo Henderson, Capitol Hill Towers Tenant Association; and Dr. Diane Perlman, Conscious Politics.
